Itinerary of the Rocky Mountains Photography Tour
Day 1 Arrive in Calgary
Our Canadian Rockies photography tour shall start from the Calgary airport, where we will await to pick up guests. We shall depart for Banff, which is just about two hours from the airport, once everybody on board is present.
Depending on the time we arrive, will we bypass the Three Sisters and head straight there to capture the last lights of the day? If the aurora forecast looks good, then we go off to photograph the green lady in one of the best places at night.

Day 2 Vermillion & Minewanka lakes
We will rise pretty early in the morning, much like good photographers do, toward Vermillion Lakes to picture the rising sun. We will loop around the lakes to get the finest framing and scenery.
After the morning shoot, we will visit some of the most famous lakes, such as Minewanka. In the morning we will spend our time there, enjoying and recharging batteries. Afterwards, we will go to Johnston Canyon and enjoy a unique landscape.
This afternoon we will see the forecast and decide where to go for making our sunset. Of course, we shall consider aurora viewpoints in the area.
Day 3 Morant's Curve - Lake Louise
Start at Morant’s Curve with a sunrise to photograph the famous TransCanada train. After sunrise, with bags packed, we’ll drive towards the Lake Louise area for the next three nights. This is where it gets good. Methane bubbles on Abraham Lake; beautiful mountains, glacial lakes.
Other attractions we are going to visit include Bow Lake, Emerald Lake, Peyto Lake, and Castle Mountain. After checking in at our hotel, we will drive to Lake Louise. We will take some time after our arrival to look around the surroundings of the lake and watch the sunset there. We will enjoy the surroundings, looking for the best frames.

Day 4 Morain Lake
We’ll take the road to Moraine Lake if it’s open. During this time of the year, there is plenty of snow, and landscapes turn out to be a real marvel when being photographed. At that very moment, one also has to expect closed roads; thus, improvisation and acclimatization should be foreseen. But don’t you worry, for our guides know perfectly the area and what’s the best to do.

Day 5 Louise Lake
We will shoot the sunrise at Lake Louise in the morning. After the sunrise, we will visit Herbert Lake. Then later, we will visit Peyto Lake, and Bow Lake, and end the day with some night hiking.
Day 6 Emerald Lake
This morning we’re going to head out to Emerald Lake, where we will do some sunrise work. Following Emerald, we’re off to Natural Bridge, where there’s great photography for waterfalls, and assuming the conditions allow, go down to the riverbank in search of ice formations for abstract photography. Next, we will return to the hotel; after checking out, be on your way to Jasper via the enchanting Icefield Parkway with all its hidden corners, standing stops along the way, such as Saskatchewan Pass or famous views of the mountain of Nigel Peak.
Day 7 Athabasca Falls - Maligne Lake
From Jasper town, we’re off to Athabasca Falls for sunrise. This won’t just be your regular waterfall photography session; instead, we will spend the morning scouting this area for spots. By afternoon, we will make our way to Maligne Lake to watch the sunset at one of the most natural places on the trip. There is a good chance of seeing wild animals here.
Day 8 Patricia Lake - Sunwapta Falls
This morning, we are off to Patricia Lake and Edith Lake for sunrise. Then later in the afternoon, we will check out the lovely Sunwapta Falls within the area for sunset.
Day 9 Icefield Parkway
We will wake up very early in the morning to drive along the beautiful Icefield Parkway all the way up to Tangle Peak, where we will make our sunrise. On the way back to the hotel, if snow conditions permit us, we will stop at another magical location. This should give us the opportunity to photograph some nice formations of an incredible setting while it is still nice and dark.
Day 10 Calgary - End of the trip
Well, this is if this is the last day of the journey. Of course, we are going to await sunrise in the area of Canmore, then take our bags and head to the Calgary airport.
